DO YOUR DANCE

5Rhythms® Accredited Classes, Series, and Workshops

Beloved Moving Mystics,

From the moment we are born, we are dancing.

Every breath we take is a divine spark, reigniting our aliveness.

Each of us is a unique dance.
Each of us moving to our own rhythm.
In our own timing.
Participating in the one Earth dance that moves us all.

Beat by beat, moment by moment, we can move on autopilot.
Or we can let movement fill our being with meaning and magic.

What is your dance telling you…
about who you are,
what you need,
where you’ve been,
and where you are going?

However wild or whimsical, mysterious or mad,
it is welcome on the dance floor.

The dance floor is a magnifying accelerator.
A sliver of the life stage.

A place to come together and fall apart.

A place where we meet each other,
aliveness to aliveness.

We dance to tune into the moves that are moving us.

We dance to metabolize our longings.
To find belonging without small talk.
Depth without drowning.

We dance to animate the material world.
To bring life into the cells and sinew we inhabit.

We dance to turn our lives into moving art.

What self are you creating?

Is it a painting?
A poem?
A multi-layered, mixed-media, masterpiece?

Who are you becoming?

What authentic self is emerging
that can’t be planned
or performed?

Are you a beatnik bodhisattva,
a musical monk,
a numinous nun?

The dance floor is a portal into your work-in-progress,
which is your life.

Bring your ever-changing, effervescent, being in motion.

The time is now.

We need your wisdom.
We need your authentic moves.

We need your dance.

If you don’t do your dance,
who will?

If you’re curious about what your dance can reveal to you,
I invite you to step onto the floor.

Our Practice

Created by Gabrielle Roth and practiced by tens of thousands worldwide, 5Rhythms® is a philosophy, perspective, performance art and a dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself.

Movement is both the medicine and the metaphor, reaching across all languages, cultures and age groups to transform suffering into art, art into awareness, and awareness into action.

Wherever the 5Rhythms are practiced, a community is born to dance, to sweat, to change, to support, and to provide a space for each of us to shatter the ego’s hold and awaken the juicy, unpredictable, fascinating, edge-walking, rock star part of ourselves that yearns to be free.

About Kayla

5Rhythms® Accredited Teacher

In 2009, on my birthday, I took a 5Rhythms Waves class in Lawrence, Kansas, and it changed my life.

It felt like coming home.

In 2010, I met Gabrielle Roth, the founder of 5Rhythms, in a grocery store parking lot just before attending her formidable 10-day Intensive. I returned home so deeply transformed that I barely recognized my own life. It felt as though everything that was not me had fallen away.

I spent the next 15 years dancing with each of the 5Rhythms maps, many teachers, many places, my home community, and alone in my living room, until the 5Rhythms became my primary spiritual path and practice.

In 2024, I completed the 1-year 5Rhythms Waves Level Teacher Training, and I continue dance at my growing edge as a student and practitioner.

It is my heart’s desire to bring together a community of dancing maniacs, connected to self and source.

The Dance Floor

With great care…

We move together at the beautiful Inner Space KC Studio. This is a ground-floor studio with an ADA-accessible restroom. All bodies, abilities, and identities are welcome. Chairs are available at every class, mobility devices are welcome, and you’re invited to move, rest, sit, or lie down as needed. Movement is always an invitation, never a requirement, and we trust you to listen to your body and care for yourself in ways that feel supportive.

5Rhythms is a movement meditation guided by five rhythms—Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. There are no steps to learn; the dance begins exactly where you are. We dance with eyes open, without talking or devices, creating a shared space of presence, and respect. Children are welcome, with caregivers remaining attentive and responsive to their needs.
